The way you pay yourself through your company can make a real difference to how much a lender is prepared to offer.
We’ll look at your salary, dividends, company performance and the lenders that may take a broader view of your income.
That gives you a better chance of approaching a lender that understands how your business works.
Get StartedIt can.
Many limited company directors choose to take a lower salary alongside dividends, leaving profits within the business.
While that can be a tax-efficient way to run your company, it doesn’t mean every lender will assess your income in the same way.
We’ll take the time to understand how you’re paid before comparing lenders whose approach reflects your income structure, helping you avoid applying for a mortgage that may not be the best fit for your circumstances.
Getting mortgage advice can help you understand which lenders are more likely to take the way you pay yourself into account.
Our Customers Rate us 4.9/5
Not every lender approaches limited company directors in the same way.
Some may only consider the income you’ve taken from the business, while others may also consider retained profits where their lending criteria allow.
That’s why the lender you apply to can be just as important as the figures themselves.
As a mortgage broker, we’ll compare mortgages from a wide range of lenders, recommending those that are better suited to the way you run your business and explaining why they’re the right fit for you.

The amount you could borrow as a limited company director will depend on several factors, including your income, deposit, credit history and monthly commitments.
The way your income is assessed can also influence the amount a lender is prepared to offer.
That’s why borrowing can vary between lenders, particularly if you’re paid through a combination of salary, dividends and retained profits.
Our borrowing calculator is a great place to start, giving you an estimate before we compare mortgages from lenders that suit the way you’re paid.

Adam was amazing, as a first time buyer he walked me through everything and even supported with some general questions around the process, checking in to see how everything was going even after he’d secured my mortgage. He went above and beyond to get the best rate. 100% recommend, also very friendly which helped ease any stresses I had throughout the process.

Amazing support and advice from Jason Loft. As a solo FTB, the whole process was a complete unknown. Jason made me feel at ease from the beginning and talked me through the whole process clearly - answering questions that I didn't even know I had. Following an accepted offer, Jason was extremely helpful outlining the process and all of the things that needed to be done from there. Jason and the team then very quickly assessed all of my documents and had my mortgage application submitted within a week (then approved a week later). I couldn't recommend Jason and the UK Moneyman team enough. Very fairly priced too for the work completed - with no payment required until after the mortgage application was approved.

As first-time buyers, the mortgage process felt quite daunting at first, but Chris made everything so much easier for us. He was incredibly supportive throughout and always took the time to explain things clearly so we understood each step of the process. Chris was also very communicative and kept us updated regularly, which really helped to reassure us during such an important time. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and he was always happy to answer any questions we had. We’re very grateful for all the help and guidance Chris gave us along the way and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a mortgage advisor. We also have communications with Lizzi as she did the administrative work on behalf of Chris. She was also great at keeping us up to date and making sure we had provided the correct documentation. She gave us an idea of what the next steps would be throughout the process. We are grateful for the support we've had from UK Money Man.
