On this glorious, sunny day, we are celebrating achievement within the company. Every month we look back on each employee’s hard work from the previous month, rewarding those who have gone above and beyond in the workplace.
Everybody gathers round, in a moment to celebrate their colleagues. This is a real confidence booster for the winners, as well as everyone else in the company.
For use in the workplace it a confidence booster to not just those selected, as well as everyone else in the company, highlights how our hard work gets appreciated by not only our customers but also to other work colleagues.
It’s a special moment, being appreciated and thanked for all your hard work. It makes you feel like a valued member of the team.
Without further ado, here are our Company Champions for August of 2019.
Kayleigh encourages positivity in the workplace, like a ray of sunshine. Don’t let that fool you though, she’s a tough and determined member of our Mortgage Administrator team, with a strong desire to ensure all our customers get their deals finalised.
Once this is done, Kayleigh also asks the customers if they could leave us a review. After such a positive service from her, they’re always happy to do so. It’s these reviews that you see on our site, that encourage you to come with us when you have an enquiry. Without the reviews, you may go to another broker, one who can’t help to the level we can.
Brummie born Nathan is what is professionally referred to in the industry, as an advising machine. Okay so maybe not entirely professional, but who can argue with results? Nathan is one of our hardest working, longest-serving and highest achieving Mortgage Advisors.
Nathan is very similar to Annie, accepting appointments almost as soon as they come in, even when they’re last minute! He has been known to work during days off or even after hours if it means ensuring the customer gets the 5-Star Service we know they deserve.
Not one to sit idly, Nathan also likes to complete as many mortgages as humanly possible, making sure his cases are done promptly and efficiently, before quickly moving on to do more. He truly cares about his customers and he shows this daily through his work.
In first place, we have Michael Sallabank. Michael, or as he affectionately is known, Mikey, started in early 2018 as an apprentice in our Marketing Department.
He has spent the past year and a half working incredibly hard to achieve everything in his path. Within the last few weeks, Mikey was presented with a certificate, for completing his Level 3 apprenticeship in Digital Marketing.
Mikey is also known for his desire to solve every problem he comes into contact with. He does not like problems he can’t fix and tends to exhaust every option in his arsenal he has in order to ensure everything is back on track. 9 times out of 10, the problems can be solved.
This does not go unappreciated by his peers either as issues can often leave them anxious, however, Mikey is quick in his work and fixes the problems efficiently and promptly.
A huge thank you to all of our Mortgage Broker in Manchester team for working so hard last month. Here’s to another great month!
How The January 2021 Lockdown Will Affect The Property & Mortgage Market?
From Tuesday 5th January, the Government has confirmed that you still have the ability to purchase or sell a home, as well as move home if necessary.
Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, announced on 4th January 2021 that the UK would be once again going into a national lockdown, in a bid to keep the country safe and control the virus. All changes would take effect the following day on the 5th, with certain sectors remaining active throughout the next 6 weeks.
Working in a similar way to the lockdown we experienced back in November 2020, the property market will remain open for business as usual, meaning you are still legally allowed to view properties, continue with a property purchase and sell your current property.
It is important to note that you may still find yourself experiencing delays with some parts of the sector. Solicitors and Surveyors are in need of tighter restrictions once again, leading their services to take a little longer than initially expected. Experts are also predicting there to be a mad dash of customers attempting to take advantage of the Stamp Duty Cut before that eventually ends.
We would like to urge anyone thinking about or starting to move home, to stay safe and please make sure you’re following all the correct guidelines. Please see the latest government guidance on how you can protect yourself and others whilst moving into a new home.
We are happy to tell you that yes, 90% mortgages are still available for homebuyers. We are seeing signs more frequently of lenders having confidence in the UK property market as time passes. They know that the demand for properties is still very much alive, and that people will only start coming back when they are certain that they are able to get a deal with a 5-10% deposit.
You may also be able to access a 90% mortgage by way of a route like the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme or the Help to Buy Shared Ownership scheme. Your trusted mortgage advisor will be able to explain how these methods could be used to help you obtain a mortgage with only a 5-10% deposit.
Mortgage Payments Holidays (a means of temporarily putting a hold on your mortgage payments, something that could leave you at a financial disadvantage during the pandemic) were due to end on 31st October 2020. Thankfully for many in need, this option for existing homeowners has now been extended to 31 March 2021.
If you are yet to take advantage of a Mortgage Payment Holiday, you’ll be able to request a break of up to 6 months. If you’ve already taken a Mortgage Payment Holiday of less than 6 months, you will be able to extend your current holiday up until the 6 month point.
Our dedicated and customer friendly mortgage advice service is still operational and we’re available to help out in any way we can. We have a team of dedicated mortgage advisors on board, who are free to answer your questions from 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week, all throughout the year. This past year has been difficult enough for a lot of people. As such, we would like to take as much stress out of your mortgage process as possible.
All customers will still benefit from a free initial mortgage consultation, no matter their circumstances.
For a brief explanation of the current status of the property and mortgage market, please see our video from company director Malcolm Davidson, recorded the day after the Prime Ministers public address.
As a dedicated mortgage advice team here at Manchestermoneyman, we would like to wish everyone very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous and healthy new year.
The values of properties in the UK have held themselves up well during the pandemic. This is down to a shortage of stock, undiminished consumer demand and the Stamp Duty Holiday (which is due to end in March of 2021).
If we’ve learnt anything about the property market in 2020, it’s that nothing will get in the way of a determined and hard working potential First-Time Buyer in Manchester from pushing through and doing whatever it takes to become homeowners!
We have predicted that going forward into 2021, even with unemployment levels on the rise, we fully expect here at Manchestermoneyman, that the consumer demand for buying property to continue upwards. With people spending more and more time at their homes, it’s understandable that people will eventually start looking for something bigger, better or with a nicer garden.
We also find around this time of year that people will start looking at their Remortgage options. These are people who are happy with their current home, but are looking to invest in their homes by expanding upon them or creating home offices, to name some examples. We have covered some of these topics in our guides, explaining why people choose to Remortgage For Home Improvements.
Interest rates are fairly low and off the back of Brexit, the Government will absolutely be wanting the property sector to grow and become stronger, especially considering that it is one of the “wide multipliers”, e.g. it will uphold lots of jobs.
Once the vaccine is fully distributed and life starts to return to normality again, we strongly believe there will be many people out there who adopt a “life’s too short” approach to their lives, something that should be good for the economy as a whole, especially those involved with the UK property market.
If you are in need of Mortgage Advice in Manchester or life insurance advice in 2021, feel free to get in touch. Our trusted team of mortgage advisors are available from early until late, 7 days a week to provide answers to your questions. Contact us to book your free initial mortgage consultation.
In our recent article “How will lockdown 2.0 affect the Property Market?“, we discussed how the property market is running exactly the same as it was prior to the lockdown. So far, things are looking promising and it is looking like the only way is up!
During the article, we didn’t really touch on what’s happening on our end and what’s it like getting Mortgage Advice in Manchester during lockdown 2.0. So, we thought that it would best to cover what’s going behind the scenes and what it’s like being a Mortgage Broker in Manchester during these strange times.
The demand is still there in the property market, in fact, as a Mortgage Broker in Manchester, we could say that it’s the highest demand we’ve seen since the last lockdown.
Although the demand is there, there is still a slight hold up in the market. This is because most estate agents, solicitors, etc, are working from home now, so if things are taking a little longer than usual, all you have to do is be patient. Remember, everyone is in the same boat as you and eventually things will get completed.
From a viewpoint of a Mortgage Broker in Manchester, we think that the market is performing incredibly well considering the circumstances. The lockdown hit the mortgage market pretty hard, everything was paused briefly; this lockdown has shown that we have learnt from the last one and have handled the sudden change very well.
As you know, we are open as usual! Nothing is preventing us from continuing exactly how we were prior to lockdown 2.0. We are still providing First Time Buyers in Manchester, Home Movers, Landlords and Self Employed applicants with fast & friendly Mortgage Advice in Manchester. having us on your side could be just what you need to help you secure a great mortgage deal.
We know that the mortgage process can be very stressful, and even more so during unprecedented times like these. That’s why we are offering our helping hand to every customer who reaches out to us. We love helping you customers and seeing you walk into your new, dream home.

They kept us updated throughout with regular updates and the whole process was done very quickly. Very friendly team and extremely helpful. Also thanks to The rest of the team involved.”

Throughout the year our Mortgage Broker in Manchester like to help out charities where we can. Making donations, sharing images, educating the workplace and those who follow us online. When we saw that the 18th October 2019 was going to be a charity day bringing awareness to another great cause, we just couldn’t resist taking part.
The occasion was to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that aims to help fund a future where everyone who develops breast cancer survives, living a long and fulfilled life.
Merging with Breast Cancer Care earlier this year, they’re supporting nearly 450 of the world’s best researchers across the UK and Ireland, to try and make a better life for anyone affected by this awful disease.
We started our charity day, by arriving in our pink t-shirts (Compliance Manager Paula also opted for big pink heels) and getting everyone “glittered up” with pink glitter on their faces, hands, arms and beards. Then as the day went on, things got wilder! We had photoshoots with all the staff, a quiz was passed around (it was a lot harder than it looked), there were a variety of cakes dotted around, and we even had a raffle – Everyone loves a good raffle!
Overall the day was fun and full of excitement, finishing off with the fantastic news that we’d raised £161 for Breast Cancer Now. We’re incredibly grateful for all involved and their willingness to shed light on a cause that desperately needs more attention. In particular, we want to say thank you to our very own Mortgage Administrator Kayleigh Steward, whom without we wouldn’t have had this brilliant day.
Our team pride themselves on providing a 5-Star Customer Service to every customer they speak to, easing them into the process and sticking by them every step of the way. This level of service is often why our customers leave such wonderful reviews and, in many cases, come back to us with more properties and/or their remortgage.
As a reward for such dedication to the company values and our customers, our very generous Directors treated the company to a lovely KFC Friday. Boneless Banquets, Zinger Stacks, Fillet Wraps – Only the best for our fantastic team!
It’s moments like this where you get to reflect upon the service we all provide as a collective, realising just how special things are.
From the Mortgage Advisors in Manchester who work between them work 7 days a week from early in the morning until late at night, sometimes sacrificing their breaks in order to ensure customers get a full 5-Star experience.
To the Administrative team who deal with incredibly tough work on a daily basis, checking through details with a fine-toothed comb and ultimately ensuring a submission turns into an offer. Despite their often long days, they remain a beacon of positivity in the office and are an inspiration to us all.
Without the efforts of these teams combined, we wouldn’t receive the reviews we do, which in turn would leave us less business! We say this as recent case study research has shown a vast amount of our customers come to us based on what previous reviews have said. We can’t thank our wonderful customers enough for being so kind to us in return! If you would like to see some of our most recent customer reviews, please see our customer reviews page.
Our customers mean the world to us and we are very proud of our ability to help them find their dream homes. If you need some 5-Star Mortgage Advice in Manchester, get in touch and we’ll see how we can help you too!
Today our Mortgage Broker in Manchester took part in Macmillan Coffee Morning, an event that the charity encourages others to engage in as a means to raise money for cancer support. We’ve taken part in many of these over the years as we try to help out the charity where we can. We call this the Broker Bake Off!
This year was one of the best yet, with some amazing food brought forward by our amazing employees.
These included;
All of these went down a treat with our staff and our building neighbours, who donated a solid amount for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are very thankful for everyone that baked, donated, tasted and had fun during our coffee morning. We’re all super full, but we can’t wait for next year’s Broker Bake Off here at Manchestermoneyman!
It’s that time of the month again, where we look back and reflect on the achievements of our employees, showing our appreciation and rewarding them for their dedication to the company cause.
Here are this month’s 2019 Company Champions.
Customer service is at the heart of what we do. If we didn’t have the mindset of “5-Star Service for all”, we wouldn’t be doing a very good job. A regular reviews champion and one of our Mortgage Administrators, Laura, always ensures her customers get the best service she could possibly offer. Laura always keeps them up to date on the phone, sends email updates regularly, making sure she’s on the ball and ready for anything.
It’s once again no surprise that she’s received such a high level of reviews from her loving customers, and as always we’re incredibly proud of her achievements.
Jason was nominated for demonstrating a positive and caring attitude towards his customers. When it comes to the 5-Star Service we aim to provide, it doesn’t just stop at Mortgages. We take great pride in providing our protection service, ensuring our customers are fully protected with life cover. Jason often goes above and beyond for his customers, really going that extra mile to ensure they’re covered just in case something goes wrong.
His caring attitude doesn’t stop with customers though. Jason is a keen helper of the administrators we have here at Manchestermoneyman. Our Mortgage Advisors in Manchester and administrators work hand in hand to get the mortgage process done thoroughly and effectively. Jason understands this and always does his very best to be a team player and make the administrators’ job a little easier.
Recent university graduate and fledging apprentice Lee is a keen worker for Manchestermoneyman. Joining Phil & Mikey in the marketing team, Lee has been full of positivity, changing the atmosphere in the office to something even brighter than it already was. This attitude is reflective in his work too; As a keen graphic designer, Lee works hard amongst all departments to ensure documents are up to standard and to bring out the best social media content in the mortgage industry. With a big future on the horizon, Lee is sure to make even bigger waves in the company and his work is appreciated by everyone he helps along the way.
With a hardworking attitude to work, Tom has really become a force to be reckoned with in our customer care team. Fully dedicated to his role, he won’t rest until every customer he’s spoken to is informed, assured and feeling positive about their upcoming mortgage. This was evident especially in a recent review we received, in where a customer with a general enquiry gave us 5-Stars, purely based on Tom’s brilliant service.
Much like a lot of the others, Tom is also a keen helper of other teams. Not only does he make sure the customers have appointments, but Tom also does some of the admin work, assists with the advisors and even spent an hour helping out the IT team in a time where they needed an extra hand. Tom is essentially at this point, the “Moneyman Everyman” and we all very much appreciate the hard work he does on a daily basis.
It’s National Apprenticeship Week for 2020. We thought we’d take a moment to reflect upon employees who recently completed their apprenticeships. As well as those who are currently undertaking them.
Riding off the success of earlier apprentices Thomas Bowes. (Formerly of the Customer Care team, now a Mortgage Advisor in Manchester), and Laura Aves. (A Dedicated Case Handler who assists our Mortgage Advisors in Manchester). We decided that apprenticeships were the way forward.
Giving young men and women an opportunity in what is likely their first job. Allowing them to learn and grow with skills they wouldn’t otherwise learn. It gives us a sense of pride and achievement. We’re helping to build their futures whilst they’re also able to earn a living.
First off we have former apprentice Michael Sallabank, who undertook a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with the company. 2 years later and Michael is very much still a part of the Moneyman team. It’s been several months since he completed his apprenticeship and he’s now a fully-fledged digital marketer. As a collective, the Marketing team helps create brand awareness, allowing potential customers to take their first steps towards Mortgage Advice in Manchester.
Next, we have Chloe Masters, who coincidentally celebrates her 1 year anniversary today. Chloe is one of the youngest members of the Manchestermoneyman team, joining our Mortgage Administrators as a Dedicated Case Handler. Finishing her apprenticeship this week, Chloe now joins fellow former apprentice Laura in assisting the Mortgage Advisors with their work.
At this current moment in time, the Manchestermoneyman team has 3 apprentices. Lee and James all joined the team in late 2019, undertaking a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship.
The 3 marketing apprentices look to take the mortgage world by storm and create even more brand awareness. For budding home buyers looking to find expert Mortgage Advice in Manchester.
We truly value everyone who walks through our doors and always enjoys watching our apprentices grow over time. As both workers and people. We look forward to seeing who joins our team in the future!
